I read the book back in August 2013 (click above for review) and was able to screen the movie a few weeks before it came to theaters. I thought they did a great job of adapting it for the big screen (though as usual, the book is ALWAYS better!), and reading the book inspired me to search out and read John Green's other novels, such as Paper Towns, which will also be adapted for the big screen, with Nat Wolff (from TFIOS) in the main protagonist role.

ReplyDeleteI have not seen the film although I have read only good reviews of the film. So I'm looking forward to seeing this tearjerker (I think I already know how the film will end but I'm staying away from any summaries or reviews so as not to spoil it.)

ReplyDeleteI love all of them that you listed. I also love when they're coming home from Amsterdam and the dad is waiting for them at the airport. As a parent it was a really touching scene. The thing I like best about the movie (and the book) is the humor. Gus's little digs to Isaac, or when he tells Hazel to stop flirting with him. There is just so much to love about this story!

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite parts of the movie was their trip to Amsterdam. I loved the humor and the interaction between all of the characters. It was wonderful how they all supported each other.
